Will Rockstar Announce Grand Theft Auto 6?
Red Dead Redemption 2 has been released and widely spread, fans may be wondering what Rockstar has planned next. GTA 5 (Grand Theft Auto) has been the most successful video game, but now the game is almost six years old. Surely, Rockstar be at least thinking a sequel? Till now the studio is mute about GTA 6 or any other future project.
Given the huge and enduring success of GTA 6, and especially GTA Online, developing GTA 6 would seem to be Rockstar's next logical step. Nevertheless, the studio has the money and capability to do something totally different. After all, Rockstar hasn't made any public announcement that they are working on GTA. In the past, there have been many leaks suggesting ongoing development of the game. Two sources have suggested that GTA 6 will feature have GTA 6 setting. Even if this was true at the time, many things can change during a game's development.
Industry analyst Michael Pachter predicted in 2017 that fans would see the next GTA launch in 2022, during an interview with GamingBolt. While that is certainly possible, Pachter also recently predicted that The Elder Scrolls 6 will launch in 2019. Given that Red Dead Redemption 2 has launched recently, it will be a year or two at least before Rockstar releases another game.

At present, Rockstar hasn't talked about any upcoming games. For years, before the release of GTA 5, rumors were circulating about a game called 'Agent'; a project which was in development under Rockstar North. Supposedly, 'Agent' would take place during the Cold War. Concept art of this game was leaked in 2017. However, some of the artwork was leaked in November 2018; the US Patent and Trademark Office declared the game's 'Agent' trademark as officially abandoned. As such, it seems that this game will not be seeing the daylight.Given the huge and enduring success of GTA 6, and especially GTA Online, developing GTA 6 would seem to be Rockstar's next logical step.
